21st Century Academic Forum RSP Workshops

The 21st Century Academic Forum is committed to embodying Einstein's advice of explaining one's work simply and clearly. Our Research Support Program (RSP) workshops are designed to assist conference participants in making their academic presentations and writing simple, clear and impactful. We hope you will take the opportunity to take advantage of our workshops scheduled on Monday, August 22nd.

To register for the workshops, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.

Academic Writing Workshop | September 27, 2016 | 9:00 - 10:30 & 1:00 - 2:30

Writing up one’s research is an arduous process that requires various cycles of reviewing and editing. This workshop offers input aimed at supporting writers so that their end product can be considered for publication in the Conference Proceedings, and ultimately, the journal.

The importance of following a style sheet, editing grammar and usage, punctuation rules, and clear structure will make up the workshop content. In addition, participants will receive and give feedback in support group guided tasks.

Academic Presentation Workshop | September 27, 2016 | 11:00 - 13:30 & 3:00 - 4:30

In this workshop, participants will develop an understanding of the rationale behind using visual aids such as PPT as part of their oral presentations. They will examine presentation elements, requirements and work on how to prepare a presentation. They will also be given the opportunity analyze a few presentations as well as work on improving their own presentations.

21st Century Academic Forum

The 21st Century Academic Forum is a global group of researchers and educators dedicated to supporting research that has the potential to influence the shaping of educational policy and practices to more effectively prepare students for the unique challenges of the 21st century. An overwhelming body of research indicates that students are leaving formal educational institutions inadequately prepared for the workforce and their lives in the knowledge-based economy.
