Dr. Helen Soulé is the Executive Director of Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21) a national non-profit coalition of business, education, community and government leaders that advocates for 21st century readiness for every student.  P21 provides tools and resources for helping educators implement systemic reform by fusing the 3Rs and 4Cs (Critical thinking and problem solving, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity and innovation).  Soulé is also CEO of Soulé Consulting Services, a private educational consulting firm that provides services to states, districts, and non-profit associations and for-profit organizations to support redesign and restructuring of 21st century teaching and learning.  She is a frequent presenter on 21st century learning at national and regional education conferences and events, most recently at the American Association of School Administrators national education conference, and the National Council on Social Studies conference.


Soulé is a longtime educator with P-16 leadership experience at the local, state and national level. She is a former elementary school teacher and district level administrator in Mississippi. At the state level, she served as director of the Mississippi Department of Education Office of Technology, with responsibilities ranging from education technology and management information services to textbooks and teacher professional development. At the national level, Soulé served as chief of staff to the assistant secretary for the Office of Postsecondary Education in the U.S. Department of Education and Executive Director of Cable in the Classroom, the cable and telecommunication industry’s education foundation. Soulé served on numerous boards that focus on the 21st century learning, including the George Lucas Educational Foundation Advisory Board, the Consortium for School Networking and the International Society for Technology in Education National Board. She is the recipient of the Converge magazine's 30 "Shapers of the Future" award, E-School News "Impact 30 Award for Excellence", and the Mississippi Educational Computing Association’s Technology Educator of the Year award.

Dr. Chris Dede
is the Timothy E. Wirth Professor in Learning Technologies at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.  His fields of scholarship include emerging technologies, policy, and leadership.  His funded research includes grants from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences, and the Gates Foundation to design and study immersive simulations, transformed social interactions, and online professional development.   In 2007, he was honored by Harvard University as an outstanding teacher, and in 2011 he was named a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association.  From , he was Chair of the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Department of Teaching and Learning.



Chris has served as a member of the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Foundations of Educational and Psychological Assessment and a member of the 2010 National Educational Technology Plan Technical Working Group.  In 2013, he co-convened a NSF workshop on “new technology-based models of postsecondary learning.”  His co-edited book, Scaling Up Success: Lessons Learned from Technology-based Educational Improvement, was published by Jossey-Bass in 2005.  A second volume he edited, Online Professional Development for Teachers: Emerging Models and Methods, was published by the Harvard Education Press in 2006.  His latest co-edited book, Digital Teaching Platforms: Customizing Classroom Learning for Each Student, was published by Teachers College Press in 2012.
