Keynote Address Title

Inspiring a Generation to Create:
Critical Components of Creativity in Children

Session Description

Dr. Helen Hadani, Head of Research at the Center for Childhood Creativity, will explore seven critical components of creativity that are essential for children to develop as they learn to think creatively, work creatively with others, and implement innovations.  The research presented outlines recommendations from a recently released paper, which integrates findings from more than 100 recent academic studies across neuroscience, psychology and education fields. Hands-on activities will be demonstrated throughout this session to illustrate practical recommendations for promoting imagination and originality, flexibility, decision-making, self-expression, collaboration, motivation and action.
